I guess we lost the thread where everyone was talking about the difference between widgets and plugins and the meaning of the words. Anyway, Dan, I thought this article about plugins might have interest for you although it is not about programming.

I am not sure if I got to the right article or not. The article I got to says this:
But we all know that “Build it and they will come” is a myth — for software or any other business.
I found that out, but only recently.

I appreciate your posting this. The link might not what you intended, but I want pick what were doing before.

Yes, those words are in the article, so think you read the right one. I could not get the link to work so here it is again just in case http://www.copyblogger.com/successful-wordpress-plugins/

My intention was not really anything, The article was talking about WordPress plugins and advice to Wordpress users and WP plugin developers. I thought you might be interested in reading what the general public is reading and posting about such things currently. It was just an informational, and for your fun interest reading just to know type thing, what is going on out in blog land about WP plugins, use, and development.

Know you hate the word plugin because of previous post that got ate.

That is a solid article. Veering away from the recommendations in that article would not go well.

Did you notice how developers fit into the scheme the taught by Chris Lema?

I get that designing a great plugin is about the whole experience and if not all aspects met customer ease of experience they will be unhappy therefore it is all about customer service. The developer starts there, moves to functionality and then design, and all aspect need to be met. You have to be aware of the concept fully and then fill in the details. I am right brain dominant so I think and understand in concept and I have to learn and work at the "a to z" details, so get the whole concept angle since that is how I function in some ways.

Customer service angle get that too, which I have years and years of life experience with, in the real world, from life and death situations to making them happy to pulling out needed details from scare upset people to pleasing the customer in retail work when I was younger. Really if looking at this in a philosophical way, LIFE is about, in every aspect, customer service and experience first, if you want to succeed.

Now not sure if that is what you were asking but that is the answer you got. ROFL.
