    Nicely done!
Now I understand better when you say the command line is faster, it's like lightning faster, especially when I could see how hard your computer had to work over that FTP connection versus the snap of your fingers on the command line.

The Formula 1 driver's face (2:12) says it all:

    I love the soundtrack too.

I made a video for you and Holly.
Can you show me how to upload it onto my server? I don't know how big it is yet because it's still exporting from iMovie, but it's only about three minutes long, and at web resolution (around 400x300 pixels)
I'm considering uploading it with Plesk or FileZilla, but I think there might be a faster way!

    It's 94.2 MB and 640x480 resolution.
And it has nothing to do with computers, but I think you guys might like it.

There a lot of ways to do this. I am limited in my ability to experiment with this, because it overheats my macbook. I would assume yours is vulnerable too.

    File Sizes
One of the things I really need is a way to make videos without the files being so large. Zoom records video from the screen and keeps the quality high and the file sizes low. I have a zoom recording of a screen share including our screens and faces from webcams that is 40 minutes long and only 40M. The large file size you have is the result of the computer making the maximum quality video possible, but usually that will prove impractical.

    Uploading

You can upload to youtube, vimeo, liveleak and others. All provide a way to keep the video private or allow it be shared how you want.

To upload to your server, you can just upload the file and share the url to where uploaded it. There are other services. Holly knows more about this than I do.

    What I have Improvised

I setup an html5 video player that I clone for videos. HTML 5 video requires that the video is in three formats, .mp4, .ogg (or ogv), and .webm. I don't have iMovie anymore. It makes videos in various formats, I think the final products are .mov files. No matter what format your final video is in, you can convert it to any other using this website, which is free as long as your original is no bigger than 100M. If your original is bigger than 100M, you can pay a few bucks for a 1-day membership. That site does a really good on video conversions. The reason for the multiple formats is so viewers can pick the format that works on their system. This is done automatically.

This video shows how to use the player I setup, which I copied and configured to run on your server. Unfortunately, even though the sound (voice) works when I play the file, it does not work when viewed through the video player in the browser. I recorded the video with snagit, so I will be asking them about

Meanwhile, what you can do is download the video from this address and play it with quicktime. The sound is working that way. When you browse to that address, to save the file locally, you will have to right click and save

Be careful on disk usage with videos. It adds up fast. Your server is only at 31%, so you are good. 80% is the max it should be filled.

Thank you for all this information. I will come back to it after we make some progress on the member levels and products at Holly's site. Videos are a thing for me, but I am limited by my computer since it makes things slow, and videos are big.

For now I uploaded it to YouTube as unlisted.

Kirsten, that makes me cry pretty hard, and I don't know why. You seem to have a connection to a dimension that we all touch but only you see and explain. It fits with everything you do. Thank you for this very beautiful video, which gave me a ride to some stars and back.

Oh no, I didn't want my video to make you sad!
I didn't know what it was about when I made it, I just knew this was what I needed to get out. Now I know that what I was trying to express was healing and renewal and reaching for dreams.
It still gives me goosebumps to watch it. That song is just so beautiful.

Speaking of dreams, I'm off to check out the members and products. That is so cool you finished it!

I'm afraid I've gotten us way off topic on this thread ...
Anyway, that is really great to see all the members and the pages and the courses all together in there!
I especially liked the page that summarized the database as it stands. (I was careful to look but not touch on that page.)
Even the countries have a table of their own, all 239 of them.

I am really starting to like the EMP backstage pass ( I don't know what those screens are called. Are they the admin pages?) It is so easy to navigate between the member lists and the reports and see exactly what is going on. Holly will be able to easily see how many members are sticking around, or at what point they are leaving. All that stuff is available, but none of it is in your face. It will be a good day when Holly sees the progress you have made.

Why do you think the home page is choking on the data?

I need to examine this on Aptana-- because I think I'm almost able wrap my head around this.
Thanks to a tip, I know I will be able to log in now!

    yes, exactly.

    Something to notice.
Url to any instance of emp: http://domain.com/path/emp

    url to "backstage pass": http://domain.com/path/emp/admin

So, to see the front end from admin, just drop admin and whatever follows it in the url.

    On drop4:

    To see the front end:

Another way to login as any person:
